EPFO WhatsApp helpline facility
Besides the WhatsApp channel, EPFO has additionally been operating a WhatsApp helpline facility in all 138 regional offices since July 2020, allowing members to mobilize grievances, seek information and ask for guidance on EPFO-related services.
The facility is not a replacement for the EPFO member portal, UMANG or EPFiGMS. Instead, it works primarily as a direct communication and grievance-backing channel with the regional office where the PF account is maintained.
These WhatsApp helpline numbers are listed on EPFO's official website, with the organisation stating that a dedicated team at each regional office aims to respond to queries within 24 hours
According to the EPFO annual report, 3,94,176 grievances or queries were received through the WhatsApp Helpline for the period from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, of which 3,91,418 were resolved.
Members can seek assistance with various issues through the EPFO WhatsApp helpline, including delayed or rejected PF withdrawal claims, PF transfer problems, missing employer contributions, KYC-related issues and other EPF-related queries.
That stated, formal services such as filing PF claims, checking claim status, and accessing the PF passbook stay available through EPFO's designated online channels, including the member portal and UMANG.
