Carlsberg India IPO gets SEBI nod for confidential pre-filing

The latest market report highlights that India's markets regulator approved Danish brewer Carlsberg's confidential pre-filing for an initial public offering of its India business, a Securities and Exchange Board of India document revealed on Thursday.
Carlsberg filed for the IPO confidentially in July, a route that allows firms to keep draft filings private until the launch.
The stock-exchange debut would not raise fresh capital, but allow the parent firm to sell part of its stake, Reuters previously noted, citing two sources.
Carlsberg joins a growing number of multinational firms seeking to tap India's buoyant equity markets and monetise investments in the country.
The potential stock-exchange debut would add to an already busy year for India's IPO market, with scheduled offerings from Jio Platforms and the recently listed National Stock Exchange of India testing investor appetite.
