Amit Jeswani's Stallion Asset eyeing mutual fund launch within next year and half

"It's just more tax-effective," stated Jeswani, speaking at the sidelines of an event. "Sooner or later, everyone will have to launch their funds."

The mutual fund industry is seeing an explosion in the number of new mutual funds, with players across the board, from quant-based AIFs to celebrity fund managers to research firms getting into the fray.

A slew of celebrity fund managers have started their own mutual fund: Samir Arora and Helios Mutual Fund; Sunil Singhania and Abakkus Mutual Fund; Vikas Khemani and Carnelian Mutual Fund; and Saurabh Mukherjea and his recently announced mutual fund.

Fund managers have been looking to tap the ever-growing pool of capital, as market participants keep put money into mutual funds and participate through systematic investment plans, which drives industry expansion.

Amit Jeswani is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Stallion Asset and has over 14 years of experience in the Indian capital markets.
