As per the latest business developments, Indian equity markets will stay closed for 11 days in October, including regular Saturday and Sunday holidays. Both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will suspend equity and equity derivatives trading on the holidays listed below, according to the exchanges' calendars.

Trading in the equity segment takes place on all days of the week except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays announced by the exchanges in advance.
The regular market session for the equity segment opens at 9:15 am and closes at 3:30 pm.
The order entry period for the closing auction session is from 3:20 pm to 3:30 pm, followed by order matching and trade confirmation from 3:30 pm to 3:35 pm. The transition period runs from 3:35 pm to 3:50 pm.
The closing session is held from 3:50 pm to 4:00 pm.
