Marine Electricals shares rise 7% as company expands operational capacity with launch of new plant in Goa

Reports coming in for today mention that Shares of Marine Electricals rose 7.5% on September 21 after the firm inaugurated its sixth manufacturing facility in Goa.

"Marine Electricals (India) Limited has inaugurated its sixth manufacturing facility in Goa with a combined floor space of approximately 160000 sq.ft. The facility started its operation on 14th September 2026 and will exclusively focus on manufacturing of PTUs ( Power Train Units) for Data Centers and Shore Conversion Systems for Ports, further strengthening the Firm’s capabilities in critical power distribution and marine infrastructure solutions," stated the firm in a stock exchange filing.

This new facility commenced production earlier this month and is anticipated to achieve its full manufacturing capacity of approximately 800 PTUs for data centers per year by March 2027. The existing fully operational five units in Goa and one unit in Vadodara will keep manufacture LV/MV switchboards and busducts, the firm further noted.

At 2:45 pm on September 21, Marine Electricals shares advanced 7% to Rs 406.35 apiece.

The new facility in Goa will additionally generate employment opportunities in the region, with roles across production, engineering, logistics, quality assurance and other operational functions, stated Marine Electricals.

Marine Electricals (India) Limited, established in 1978 and headquartered in Mumbai, is an engineering solutions provider specialising in power distribution, automation and integrated electrical solutions. The firm serves the commercial marine and defence marine and industries, infrastructure and commercial sectors, with customers including the Indian Navy, shipyards, data centers, semiconductor and industrial enterprises. With 700-plus employees, six-plus manufacturing facilities and multiple branch offices and service centres, Marine Electricals recorded Rs 877 crore topline in FY26 and had an order book of Rs 2,073 crore as of June 2026.
