Biocon block deals: True North affiliate offloads Rs 638 crore worth shares; Citi, WhiteOak, SBI MF, Kotak...

Reports coming in for today mention that Activ Pine LLP, an affiliate of private equity firm True North, has offloaded more than Rs 638 crore worth of shares in Bengaluru-based biopharmaceutical firm Biocon through open-market transactions on September 9.

Following the block deals, Biocon shares ended at Rs 395, up 0.62 percent, amid high trading volumes on the BSE.

Activ Pine LLP sold 1.65 crore equity shares, representing a 1.02 percent stake in Biocon, at Rs 385 per share. The sale was made from its total holding of 1.08 percent, or 1.76 crore equity shares, as of June 2026.

The shares, valued at Rs 638.37 crore, were bought by 12 global and domestic marquee market participants, including Citigroup, Kotak Mahindra AMC, ICICI Prudential AMC, BNP Paribas, Societe Generale and SBI Mutual Fund, at Rs 385 apiece.

ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund emerged as the largest buyer, acquiring additional 74.03 lakh shares for Rs 285.02 crore. It was followed by SBI Mutual Fund, which picked up 14.23 lakh shares for Rs 54.82 crore.

Further, Kotak Mahindra AMC and Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC each bought 12.77 lakh shares for Rs 49.16 crore. Other market participants, including BNP Paribas Arbitrage, Citigroup Global Markets Singapore, WhiteOak Capital MF, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Firm, Bajaj Life Insurance, Societe Generale, Edelweiss Mutual Fund and Norges Bank, on behalf of the Government Pension Fund Global, each purchased 6.5 lakh shares for Rs 25.02 crore.

Among the above-mentioned market participants, HDFC Life Insurance Firm held a 1.01 percent stake in Biocon, while ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, through ISIF Equity Ex-Top 100 Long-Short Fund, held a 1.46 percent stake and Kotak Mahindra AMC held a 1.29 percent stake, as stated by the firm's June 2026 shareholding pattern.

Pankaj Prasoon picks up additional 2.3% stake in Khadim India

Angel investor Pankaj Prasoon has picked up an additional 4.18 lakh shares in footwear maker Khadim India for Rs 4.86 crore at Rs 116.19 per share. He already held a 1.62 percent stake, or 2.97 lakh shares, in the firm as of June 2026.

On the other hand, Ambit Investment Advisors sold 3.69 lakh shares in Khadim India for Rs 4.27 crore at Rs 115.97 per share.

Khadim India shares rallied 2 percent to end at Rs 120.68 amid heavy trading volumes on the National Stock Exchange, extending their uptrend for the second consecutive session.

Lemon Group-backed Veloce Fintech buys 3.57% stake in Mangalam Global Enterprise, Chungath exits

Lemon Group-backed Veloce Fintech, through Veloce Opportunities Fund and Veloce Opportunities Fund-II, picked up 1.17 crore equity shares, representing a 3.57 percent stake in Mangalam Global Enterprise, for Rs 18.26 crore at Rs 15.5 per share.

In the meantime, investor Chungath Karunakaran Padma Kumar exited the firm by selling his entire holding of 1.24 crore shares, equivalent to a 3.78 percent stake, for Rs 19.3 crore at the same price.

Mangalam Global Enterprise stock price rose 2.19 percent to Rs 15.84 amid big volumes on the NSE.
